SPEAKING & ADVOCACY

I’m developing a speaking and public-engagement practice alongside my photography and writing.

My work comes from lived experience, research and working knowledge. I speak about hidden homelessness, employment, housing, stigma, visual storytelling and the systems people have to navigate.

Photography remains at the centre of this work. It gives me a way to examine what is visible, what is missed and how people are represented.

WHAT I SPEAK ABOUT

HIDDEN HOMELESSNESS

What it means to have no secure home while still working, earning, commuting and appearing to function normally.

PHOTOGRAPHY AND LIVED EXPERIENCE

How to tell personal and vulnerable stories without turning people into symbols or spectacle.

WORK, CLASS AND SKILLED LABOUR

What can be understood from the perspective of a working mechanic and creative, including the realities of training, labour, value and workplace culture.

HOUSING AND SYSTEMS

The gap between official language, institutional processes and the reality of trying to get help.

CURRENT TALK THEMES

NO FIXED ADDRESS

What hidden homelessness looks like when the person experiencing it is still working.

HOMELESS BUT STILL AT WORK

The assumptions built into homelessness services, public language and workplace culture.

PHOTOGRAPHING LIVED EXPERIENCE

How photography can document difficult subjects without reducing people to a single story.
